Perth Pals Volunteer Agreement & Expectations

Thank you for being part of Perth Pals and for volunteering to help host our events! Please read the following information carefully before confirming your participation. This page outlines your responsibilities, our expectations, and the legal agreement for volunteering.

Your Role as a Volunteer

By volunteering as a Perth Pals Event Host, you agree to:

• Welcome guests and check people in at the door

• Take a few casual photos and videos during the event using your phone (your phone is perfect!)

  • Aim for a few group shots, candid shots, and short videos (under 10 seconds)

  • Please respect everyone’s privacy—don’t capture anyone who prefers not to be included

  • Keep photos and videos positive and friendly to showcase the welcoming Perth Pals vibe

  • After the event, please email your photos and videos to hello@perthpals.com

• Be friendly and inclusive — help anyone who’s new or on their own feel welcome

• Represent Perth Pals in a positive, respectful way

• Let us know ASAP if you can’t make it, so we can find a backup

• Ideally help out at a few events — but there’s no pressure! You can say yes or no to each one

 

 You’ll get free entry to the event you’re helping at.
You need to have attended at least one Perth Pals event before volunteering.

 

 Legal Agreement & Waiver

Please read the following carefully — this section outlines the terms you agree to by volunteering with us.

1. Voluntary Role

Your participation as a Perth Pals volunteer is unpaid and entirely voluntary. You are not considered an employee and will not receive wages, reimbursements, or employee benefits.

2. Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Greet and check in attendees

• Capture casual content for use on social media (with consent)

• Follow any event-specific instructions from Perth Pals

• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment

3. Assumption of Risk

You understand and accept that volunteering may carry risks, including minor accidents (like slips, trips, etc.). You voluntarily assume these risks when participating.

4. Release of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless Perth Pals, its organisers, volunteers, and partners from any liability or claims related to your volunteer participation, including any personal injury, loss, or damage.

5. Use of Photos & Videos

You consent to Perth Pals using photos or videos taken of you or by you during the event for marketing or promotional purposes (e.g., social media or our website), without payment.

6. Confidentiality

You agree not to share any private, sensitive, or personal information about attendees or Perth Pals operations that you may become aware of through your role.

7. Confirmation

By ticking the boxes in the Volunteer Confirmation Form, you confirm you have read, understood, and agreed to this combined Volunteer Agreement & Expectations.
